My Story – Part 3

Since than, I have made considerable changes to my overall life style. I have fundamentally changed my diet and now consume well over 90% of my daily food from fresh ripe seasonal fruits, fresh pressed fruit and vegetable juices and an occasional salad. I also some time like to take steamed vegetables and blend them with fresh parsley and / or avocados and have it in the form of soups.  In the past, I have experimented with pasture raised eggs, raw kefir, raw cheese and raw goats/cows milk but found them to be a lot inferior in terms of nutritional value when compared to fresh ripe seasonal fruits and vegetables.  I stopped consuming all types of processed foods including refined sugar, white flour, white rice, gluten, processed/junk foods, as well as all pasteurized foods. In fact if anything comes in a box or a can I try my best to avoid it at all costs. In the past, I have experimented with super foods and supplements like powdered wheat grass juice, blue green algae, probiotics and enzymes. However, as I learned more and more about the real cause(s) of my various symptoms (thanks to Dr. Robert Morse ND) namely Acidosis, clogged lymphatic system, and compromised adrenals and kidneys (due to weak genetics), I have since moved away from the supplements and have started to focus more on the deep tissue detoxification and regeneration using specific fruits (Melons, grapes and berries) and Dr Morse’s herbal formulas.

I have also incorporated a number of spiritual practices in my daily routine including Pranayama (literally means the extension of life force), meditation, prayers, and yoga. I go for regular early morning and evening walks and do deep breathing thus allowing fresh oxygen to come into my system. These practices have greatly helped at emotional and mental levels. In addition, I have also incorporated four key rituals that I routinely follow while I am walking. They include offering gratitude for what I am blessed with, letting go/surrendering the thoughts and feelings that limits my growth as a human being, praying for friends and family, asking the divine what I can do to help my body heal itself, and accepting/embracing what the divine has in store for me. These daily rituals have allowed me to deal with my physical symptoms as well as strong temptations and cravings that I sometime have when I am around stimulating foods and drinks.  Other important factors such as eating and sleeping at right times and removing myself from the chaos of daily life, staying away from depressing news/people as much as possible has also played an important role in my journey towards health. By consuming high energy foods such as ripe seasonal fruits, I have become a lot more aware of my surroundings and consequences of my actions on my health and wellbeing. I have continued to gain valuable insights into the way my physiology and psychology works.

In the last two years, I have spent a lot of time learning about the human body and how one can heal oneself of many ailments by following a clean – healthy lifestyle. I also completed certification in a Holistic Nutrition program from an online institute and am currently enrolled in Dr. Morse level 1 certification program.  As part of health journey, I read dozens of of health related books, research articles, blogs and watched a number of health documentaries and literally thousands of You Tube videos. i found out that, there is a lot of good information out there but at times it got really confusing for me. Only, when I started going through Dr Morse’s various (free) you tube videos which he patiently records every week for people all over the world, I came to realize that the real journey towards vibrant health doesn’t have a short cut (no magic pill/supplement). More importantly, the power to heal and regenerate from any health challenge lies within each us (not with the doctors or the pharmaceuticals).

The belief that the divine is present in each and everyone one of us  has brought in the much-needed will power, patience and resilience in me. However, it was not a smooth ride and there were plenty of speed bumps along the way. There were times when I had serious doubts in my body’s ability to heal itself (especially during serious bouts of healing crisis) but I stuck with it and now beginning to see clear signs of better health. This experiences have taught me yet another important lesson on my body’s healing methods. As I am providing all the required raw materials (healthy environment, nutrition, herbs, ample rest, spiritual exercises), the built-in intelligence in my body has started the house cleaning by getting rid of the accumulated toxins (as seen in my pictures) and the symptoms have started to disappear one by one.

As I reflect back, I can see how each one of the health challenges that I faced was in fact an opportunity to learn how to (Not To) treat my body, mind and spirit. In the beginning, I didn’t pay much attention to the wisdom / knowledge that accompanied these opportunities. Only after I made the conscious choice to change the way I was living my life that I began to see and appreciate the message my body was trying to send me – apparently for a long time.
